Its mission is clear: to foster sustainable, impactful businesses by supporting cooperatives through a rigorous accelerator program. The organization values community wealth building, equitable ownership models, and the transformative power of cooperative structures. ### Program Structure and Timeline The Fall 2025 Accelerator spans 12 intensive weeks, running from September 4th to December 5th, 2025. The program is structured around Start.coop's proprietary Lean Co-op methodology, integrating both business and cooperative governance model development. Participants engage in weekly workshops, each designed with hands-on activities to build real-world business skills. Key workshop topics include cooperative purpose, facilitative leadership, decision-making and governance structures, legal frameworks for cooperatives, building sustainable revenue, and crafting pitch decks. Applications for the Fall 2025 cohort opened on May 19, 2025, and closed on June 18, 2025, with interviews conducted in July and decisions announced by August 8, 2025. ### Mentorship and Network A core component of the accelerator is personalized support provided through eight 1:1 business coaching sessions with an established cooperative developer. This direct mentorship ensures tailored guidance for each cooperative's unique challenges and opportunities. The program emphasizes peer connection, fostering a supportive cohort environment where entrepreneurs can collaborate, share insights, and build a lasting network with like-minded founders. Participants also gain access to on-demand modules from Start.coop's online curriculum. ### Investment Terms and Perks Each participating cooperative receives a $5,000 grant to support their development during the program. This financial support is complemented by significant in-kind benefits. The accelerator secures discounted access to essential business management tools and services, including legal, accounting, CRM, and marketing platforms.
